How to Feed a Dictator / Part One: Fidel Castro
18. 4. 2026 (18:30)
This work-in-progress by Jakub Gottwald and Pavel Neškudla, inspired by Witold Szabłowski’s book How to Feed a Dictator, returns to Fidel Castro’s Cuba and the Cuban Revolution. It examines the situation of what was once the wealthiest Caribbean island following the communist coup of 1958–1959 and raises the question of how a humanistic vision becomes an instrument of power.

The staged concert by the Veselé chvíle choir at the Libeň Synagogue is intended to be an evening of reflection. An evening when we reflect on our present moment, on ourselves, and on our relationship to time, eternity, God, and prayer. Why is it that even in the most difficult moments of our lives, we turn to God, even if we do not believe in Him?
Mišpacha
23. 4. 2026 (18:00)
Mishpacha is a phenomenon that transcends the realm of music. Perhaps more than other musical groups, it grows out of intimacy; it emerged from a long-standing tradition of singing within families, in families where several groups of relatives have always been part of the ensemble. What Mišpacha sings are primarily prayers, and in Mišpacha’s rendition, singing thus returns to its original, highest calling—the expression of human spirituality.
